There has been a lot going on over the last few months at Alabu. Nell and I have been unable to participate in the day-to-day activities, but we are excited to be back now. It was exciting to see a lot of the changes that have been made. One change that was made in the last few months is to discontinue our fragrance oil soaps. We mentioned this in the September newsletter, but I wanted to make sure that it isn’t forgotten. Yesterday we sold our last bar of Purely Herbal Soap. We understand that it may be disappointing for some that this happened, but it is exciting for us. We are really excited about what is being worked on to replace our fragrance oil soaps.
Fragrance oils are made up of one to two hundred mostly man-made chemicals that are a proprietary blend (which means they are a manufacturers’ secret). Because we don’t know what’s in them and have no way to find out, we decided our soap would be better without them. Essential oils are much better for your skin and are derived directly from the plant. Even though we use such a small amount of fragrance oil that it still allows our soap to fall within the “Natural†guidelines, that isn’t good enough for us. We are working diligently to replace the fragrance oil soap with similar Essential oil soaps. Unfortunately, some of the fragrances are impossible to replace, but leaving out Fragrance oils will only make our soap that much better.

I am deeply disappointed in the discontinuation of some of my favorite fragances but am looking forward to maybe some new ones. When can we expect replacements?
We are currently working very diligently to get replacements. There is not a specified date at this time, but keep reading. As soon as we have a date nailed down, we will be sure to let everyone know.
